On February 12–28, 2010, Richmond welcomed the world as a Venue City for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Twelve medal events made the Richmond Olympic Oval, one of the busiest venues during the Games. Conveniently located within walking distance to the Canada Line, rapid transit system connecting YVR to Richmond and Metro Vancouver, the Oval is easily accessible to visitors of all ages and abilities.

Get in the middle of serious wildlife action
From April to October you can venture into the Gulf Islands for jaw-dropping tours that get you up-close and personal to orcas, porpoises, sea lions, seals, and bald eagles. Explore unlimited hiking, or rent a bike to travel the city’s famed levees and dykes along endless waterfront trails. Spend the day kite-flying, bird-watching or have a water fight at the fishing village-themed Steveston Water Park, accessible for children of all abilities.
